Love Your Neighbor (LYN) began in 2019 when the Claremore community came together for LOVE DAY, a day of service that saw over 500 volunteers from various churches, non-profits, businesses and families partner with the City of Claremore and the Rogers County commissioners to help meet critical needs of widows, senior citizens, those with disabilities, families facing financial hardships, and improving our city's parks, trails, and green spaces.
As we sought to duplicate the huge success of LOVE DAY in 2020, the global pandemic of COVID-19 began taking its toll. A large gathering of volunteers was out of the question. Our focus shifted from a one day event as we began to ask ourselves how we could meet the needs of our neighbors and our community throughout the year. This is an enormous task that we can't do alone. But we are certain, as we come together as a community, our impact will continue to grow as we share the love of Christ by giving our best to those who need it the most. We invite you to join us because as we help others, we grow stronger as individuals and a community.
